About the Role
Job Title: Certified Diesel Mechanic Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Shop Manager Pay Grade: Auxiliary Pay
Grade 7 Dept./School: Transportation Department Initiated Date: April 2026 *Pre Screening may be conducted by an
approved medical vendor prior to starting employment. District Primary Purpose: To assist and promote La Joya ISD in
implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement. Department
Primary Purpose: The Certified Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair
of district-owned school buses and related fleet vehicles in compliance with Texas state laws and safety standards.
