About the Role
Street Maintenance Technician Under immediate supervision, to perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance
of street and alley systems to include, earth work preparation in the right-of-way, construction of rigid (portland
concrete), flexible (asphaltic) base, and gravel surfaces as well as the operation and preventive maintenance care of
heavy construction, maintenance equipment, and machinery. The Street Maintenance Technician (SMT) Trainee, I, II, and
III exercise no supervision. The Street Maintenance Technician (SMT) IV may exercise technical and functional
supervision over lower-level staff. Street Maintenance Technician Trainee, I, II, III, IV Operate dump trucks that have
